July shopping in Montreal- LUSH

Hello! Bonjour from Montreal! It's been a fabulous summer filled with pool days and shopping in this great city. I love being here among the great shopping centers and outlets! My first stop was at Lush at Carrefour Laval. The service was amazing! Here's what I got.

Ginger and Fennel Sugar scrub

This product has been my favourite for cellulite ever since I tried it last year. It's green and in a semi-circular shape. I love how easy it is and how fresh and invigorating it feels. You don't use it under running water but rather wet it a bit and take a small amount and rub it all over your skin. Massage well and then rinse off. It isn't harsh on the skin but smooth and pleasant. It has an 'ocean' smell. I use it almost every day before using soap. $6.25 (100 gr)

Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub

I got this because the sales person said I can also use it on my face unlike the sugar scrub above. I really do like it as well. It really is amazing on the face and body. You use it like any scrub on wet skin and massaging in a circular motion before rinsing off. The sea salt leaves the skin feeling so soft and clean. The texture is creamy. I love it especially for oily skin. It is better than the sugar scrub but also a lot more expensive. $22-$36 depending on the size. The one displayed in the picture was from a gift box in a special size.

Stepping Stone Foot Scrub

This is the scrub shaped like a foot - obviously! I got this as summer requires a lot of foot care when wearing sandals. I love giving myself a pedicure and massaging feet with a good scrub is a must. This scrub did not live up to its expectations. I must admit I like really tough scrubs so feet are extra soft. This scrub is not as 'abrasive'. I have to use a big amount as it melts away too quickly. My feet are soft afterwards but it doesn't work so well on heels where it's needed the most. $4.50

Bohemian Soap

This soap should be called Lemon soap! It really has a strong lemon scent! Overpowering! However, the soap really does wonders for oily skin. The lemon juice is a natural astringent making your skin really clean. It foams up well and the smell doesn't last long on the skin-thankfully! $7.50 (100 gr)

African Paradise Body Conditioner

Have you ever heard of a body conditioner? Neither had I until seeing it on display in the store. The truth is I wanted a body lotion and the sales person gave me this saying I could use it as a lotion too. I have used it on rough patches on the skin and it works well. In the shower though, I didn't like it. You basically apply it like a cream after soaping and then rinse off. I didn't like how my skin felt afterwards. On my arms I felt like I had to rinse it off a lot as it felt 'heavy'.I do recommend it after shaving legs and especially for those of you who are doing laser hair removal (like me) as your legs need constant moisturizing. $39.95 (250 gr)

Vanilla Dee-lite Body Lotion

This is the sample I got in the little pot. I got 2 of them! I really loved it! It has to be among the best body lotions I've ever used! It's light, absorbs quickly without a 'greasy' feel. The scent is a discreet, fresh vanilla scent  which anyone can use ( including people who don't like vanilla). I do recommend it to anyone looking for a body lotion! I LOVE it! Yes I will be buying it soon despite the price! $27.95 (250 ml)

E.COUDRAY - Jacinthe et Rose Eau de Toilette

I had a sample of this and at first I  must admit that I didn't really like it. Then one day I actually tried it on and I changed my mind. It has such a fresh, clean, feminine scent.Top notes are vodka, peach, hiacinth, and orange. Middle notes are peony, orange blossom, ylang-ylang and rose. Base notes are sandalwood, musk, vanilla, vetiver and cedar.I love using it after my morning shower. It's great for during the day and perfect for spring and summer. www.coudray-parfumeur.com

MARIO BADESCU - Glycolic Foaming Cleanser

I've been using this since last year after trying it from Glowbox. This foaming cleanser is ideal for the summer if your skin is a bit dry. In winter I use it once a week It has glycolic acid which exfoliates the skin and clears up dullness. I LOVE this product! Your skin feels so clean and fresh after using this in the morning. I also use it after removing make-up because I feel that it really cleans off all the excess left after a cleansing milk. I would, however, recommend using a sample first to see how it feels on your skin.

CAUDALIE - Moisturizing Sorbet

This product is recommended for sensitive skin. I had tried a sample after purchasing a few products a few months ago because I had been looking for a 'light' moisturizing cream for spring and summer. The thing with Caudalie is that I like everything I've ever bought from them! This is no exception. The cream is very light and does not clog pores or feel greasy. It has somehow made my skin more resilient and less sensitive. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something to use in summer. caudalie.com

KORRES - Cucumber Eye Mask 

This cute little tube was something I got at a pharmacy on this wonderful stand full of small-sized goodies. Korres has recently launched these face masks and scrubs in small sizes perfect for travelling. This is a gel you use around the eye area for about 10 minutes and then rinse. It helps reduce puffiness under the eyes and leave the skin feeling hydrated. I would recommend keeping it in the fridge because it's more effective to use if it's cold. korres.com

May Glowbox

I just love it when Glowbox has a Fresh Line exclusive box! As soon as I heard about it, I ordered it!
Inside there's a mojito shower gel, Poseidon body splash, Aphrodite Body Sculpture Serum, Hephaestus Face Emulsion Sunblock SPF15 and Terpsichore solid shampoo.
So far I tried the sunblock which smells divine and the Body Sculpture Serum. I can't wait to try the rest. Unfortunately there was no discount coupon in the box this time!

Hello! After spring cleaning my make up bags and cupboards, I couldn't imagine how much had accumulated that needed to be thrown away. So many old lipsticks and eye shadows had to go...to make way for new ones! I needed a new concealer and my Estee Lauder serum to start.

The Body Shop Colour Crush Eye Shadow : Shade 225 Brownie&Clyde

The Balm Girls - Lipstick : Shade Mai Billsbepaid

I had discovered a little local store by a make up artist with only a couple of brands inside and decided to take a look. After trying a few colours, I noticed that a lot of them looked really different when you put them on. Of course I had to try something! I love trying new brands so a lipstick was the obvious choice. I do regret buying such a nude shade because I have to use a lipliner all over first. I then realised that the older I get, the more colour I need as using a nude shade washes me out. As for the quality I can say it's good. If you want a matte colour, it's perfect. However, I do need something a little more moisturizing though. http://www.thebalm.com/

Dior - Diorskin Star Concealer : Shade 001

After a certain age (35+) I'd say investing in a good concealer is a must. Liquid concealers are the way to go. They have illuminating properties, don't clog your pores or show wrinkles. I decided to try this one as the sales clerk said there was a 25% discount. I tried it on as soon as I got home. I am very happy with this purchase. It does illuminate and you do look more refreshed. I didn't think it could deliver on its promises but I was wrong. Thankfully! I highly recommend it to anyone looking to change their old concealer. www.dior.com

Estee Lauder Idealist - Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher

Having tried a sample of this in one of those gift-with-purchase bags, I knew that what had been missing in my skin care routine was finally found. I will rave about this product! 'Excellent' does not describe how amazing it is! It does everything it says: reduce pores, flakiness and redness. It gives you an even skin tone and is amazing to use with make up. I think it makes your skin feel more youthful and look more relaxed. It's great to use with make up because it looks so professional afterwards. You really do see a difference from before. Penhaligon's London

This was THE purchase in London! After seeing a documentary on TV about Penhaligon's, I decided that I had to visit this store. I went to their Burlington Arcade store and the experience was wonderful. The staff had placed small handkerchiefs in this beautiful silver vase outside the store with Ostara perfume and the scent was amazing. Once I was inside the decor was so beautiful and vintage. The blend of fragrances was heavenly!
The staff was so polite and friendly! They were incredible! After trying on a few perfumes, I decided on Cornubia. It's a classic, something that can be worn at any age.

Kiko in London

Hello! Yes I was in London last weekend and it was great! I didn't have enough time to really go shopping so I got what was on my list! I went straight to Kiko as I desperately needed a face powder.

Compact Mineral Powder - Kiko Milano

As I mentioned I needed a face powder because my other was finished so I decided to give it a try as their prices are really reasonable. I got it after trying it on, of course! I have to say that I didn't like using it on its own. There wasn't enough coverage and I didn't like the way my skin looked - dull and kind of flat. However, once applied with a foundation I found it to be satisfactory as it reduces the shine on my T-zone and forehead. So yes, use it with a foundation.

Ultra Glossy Stylo Lipstick - Kiko Milano

This is my second Kiko lipstick and the truth is that I couldn't resist not buying a lipstick because you can never have enough. This line is glossy and moisturizing which is why I prefer it to a matte lipstick. It's great if you apply a lipliner all over your lip because it lasts longer. The colour can also change if you use a slightly darker shade. I like this lipstick and look forward to trying another type from Kiko. Honestly, the store was just too crowded on Regent's to look any longer.

Shea Body Butter - The Body Shop

While in London I had really dry patches on my hands. It was quite uncomfortable and the lotion I had brought with me wasn't doing enough. I headed to the Body Shop to get a body butter and got the shea one because it's so moisturizing and smells so good. It did the trick! I love their body butters!

Tempted?!! I know that most women surf the net to find out all about the new products coming out on the market. While doing that, I found this UK site selling niche brands that I hadn't really heard of before. I had been surfing for a while through their site and decided to give it a try. The transport was quick as I had everything within 4 business days and it came in this box. There was a sample of a toner by Aesop which I liked. There were supposed to be 2 samples with my purchase but there was some kind of problem when I clicked on the other product and I didn't get it. I was informed by email that I would get it on my next purchase.

Convertible Colour (Petunia) - Stila

This is so cute. I love the packaging! It has a little mirror that you can use and the compact is simply adorable! I have to say that I love it as a lip gloss because the bright coral shade looks amazing with my white skin. I do use a retractable lip brush though because I find the colour too sheer if applied with a finger. It's great to use now with spring on the way. Lip & Cheek pencil (Mystic) - Nudestix

I had never heard of this brand but I needed a pencil like that as I use it all the time under lipsticks and lip glosses and find them super handy. This is an amazing product and the colour is a natural lip colour allowing you to apply any shade on top. You can use it alone for a nude look and lasts long too. It comes in that little black container which contains a sharpener as well as info on the brand. I will be trying more of these in the future. http://www.nudestix.com/

Lip gloss (Malibu) - Jouer Cosmetics

Another niche brand with a variety of cosmetics. I had to try this shade of lip gloss because I wanted something fuschia. It is a great lip gloss which isn't sticky at all. It lasts just like a regular lip gloss but the colour is quite sheer so you have to use a lip pencil all over your lips for a more intense look.

Viva Glam Miley Cyrus

I finally have this in my hands after a long wait!!! OK maybe not that long a wait! I saw this online a few weeks ago and I knew I had to have it. Viva Glam Miley Cyrus was available at MAC stores in Greece last Friday. I love this hot pink and just can't wait to wear it!

February's Glowbox arrived a few days ago. I really can't wait to try everything!

Demetra Skin Salve Remedy Face & Body Wash

I use this as a face wash in summer because I have oily skin with redness. It is very effective and soothing. It's perfect if you have this condition. It lathers up nicely and has a sweet fragrance that is a bit strong.However, I don't use it in winter because I find it a bit drying. It can also be used as a body wash as it has antibacterial and antiseptic qualities. It contains calendula, elderflower, yarrow and chamomile essential oil.

I recently purchased this product to combine it with the face cream I've been using a while. It is an INCREDIBLE toner! I can't stress it enough! It is amazing to use after a cleanser, mask or even just to remove make up. Ideal for dry skin (like mine in winter!) and I even use it as an eye make up remover! It is unscented, mild and refreshing. It contains herbal extracts like comfrey, organic aloe and oat. Alcohol free.

This cream has a light texture and is easily absorbed. Perfect for daytime use as it is not greasy so you can apply make up on almost right away. It is lightly scented but once applied, it doesn't leave a scent. I love it because ever since I started using it, I have noticed an improvement in my complexion. Any redness goes away and no dry patches during the day. What a relief! I had been looking for a product to offer all these qualities and to last throughout the day. This is it! I won't need to look for another day cream for the winter. It contains Greek organic olive oil, olive butter and borage oil.

Hera Intensive Face Lift Serum

This anti-aging serum is for all skin types. I was sceptical at first, but after trying a sample I knew I had to buy it. Let me start by saying that I only use it at night, before going to bed. It does wonders on your skin because you look more 'awake and refreshed' in the day. That's why I will keep buying it. It is quite fluid so you only need a few drops therefore it lasts you quite a while. The only thing I don't like is the scent. It is strong. Very strong. I find I can't use it during the day because it takes a while to get absorbed and when you're on the go you don't have the time.
Το serum αυτό ταιριάζει σε όλες τις επιδερμίδες. Είχα δοκιμάσει δείγμα και αμέσως το αγόρασα. Το χρησιμοποιώ μόνο το βράδυ διότι όταν ξυπνάς, φαίνεσαι πιο αναζωογονημένη! Είναι πολύ λεπτή υφή και χρειάζονται μόνο λίγες σταγόνες. Αργεί λίγο να απορροφηθεί και έτσι δεν το χρησιμοποιώ την ημέρα.Διαρκεί πολύ καιρό. Το μόνο αρνητικό είναι το άρωμα. Είναι πολύ έντονο. Αυτό δεν μ'αρέσει αλλά έχει εκπληκτικά αποτελέσματα.

This is available through their fresh bar products and is sold by weight. My little cup was 10 euros and lasts me all winter. I use it once a week. It has a light refreshing scent which is so pleasant. It is a restoring and hydrating mask perfect for an anti-aging regimen. It contains rose essential oil and a mix of others as well. Perfect for dry and mature skin types.

Cils Booster XL - Lancome

This was given to me last year to try by a friend. At first I loved it because it made my lashes even more impressive after applying any mascara on. It was a miracle. The novelty wore off after a couple of months. The product has a very short lifespan. It started getting clumpy in 2 months. I was not happy about that. I have not used it since.

Longest Lash Mascara - Jane Iredale

I got this mascara in the fall and I just started using it. What I like about it is that it's subtle and great to use for daytime make up. It can be worn at work and it looks 'natural'.It also has natural ingredients. I love the packaging and the fact that it isn't clumpy at all. The downside is that it's expensive.

Volumising Big Brush Mascara - Models Own

I had never tried anything by this brand before getting this in a subscription beauty box. I've been using it for a couple of weeks. Basically, it's your average black mascara and it has a nice brush. It applies well and has a nice effect. Nothing dramatic really.

Sumptuous Extreme Mascara - Estee Lauder

I bought this mascara in two shades: Extreme Brown and Black. The weird thing is that they're completely different in everything! I had gotten the black one in a gift with purchase bag and fell in love with it. Clearly the BEST mascara I've ever used. It applies well and the lashes do seem to get thicker and longer. It's outstanding! However, once I purchased it in brown, I was disappointed. There was no such effect. I don't know if the colour made the difference or the store I bought it from had previously opened it. Quite the mystery!
Δοκίμασα αυτην τη mascara σε συσκευασία δώρου με αγορά, δείγμα σε μαύρο. Την λάτρεψα! Η καλύτερη mascara EVER! Δίνει όγκο και είναι εντυπωσιακό το βλέμμα. Ωστόσο όταν την αγόρασα σε καφέ χρώμα ήταν απογοήτευση! καθόλου όγκο και γενικά χάλια. Δεν ξέρω αν φταίει το χρώμα ή αν το είχαν ανοίξει πριν το πάρω. μυστήριο!
